Roots in the Woods takes place in the beautiful forests of Pohorje, Slovenia, at RTC Jakec – Trije Kralji, surrounded by mountains, fresh air and untouched nature.

The festival location is peaceful and remote — part of the magic of the experience — but still accessible by car, shuttle, train or plane.

The festival takes place in the Pohorje mountains, approximately:

• 35 min from Slovenska Bistrica
• 45 min from Maribor
• 2 hours from Ljubljana
• 1.5 hours from Graz (Austria)
• 2.5 hours from Zagreb (Croatia)

Festival altitude: approximately 1200 m above sea level.

Driving to the festival is the easiest and most flexible option.

Please note: the final road towards Trije Kralji is a mountain forest road with many curves. Drive carefully and slowly.

From there, visitors can continue by taxi, ride share or shuttle (if available).

We highly recommend coordinating rides with other festival visitors through social media groups.

The nearest larger bus stations are located in Maribor and Slovenska Bistrica.

We encourage visitors to organize ride sharing and travel together whenever possible.
